Advent: the time to listen for footsteps – you can’t hear footsteps when you’re
running yourself.” Bill McKibben
“This Advent we look to the Wise Men to teach us where to focus our
attention. We set our sights on things above, where God is. We draw closer
to Jesus…” Mark Zimmermann in Our Advent Journey
It is always darkest just before the day dawneth. Thomas Fuller
Many things are possible for the person who has hope. Even more is possible
for the person who has faith. And still more is possible for the person who
knows how to love. But everything is possible for the person who practices all
three virtues. Brother Lawrence
“Follow the Star” – this Advent, we’re encouraging all local
residents to put stars in their windows or front gardens as a
sign of hope. They can be bought, homemade, shiny, flashing
etc. – it would be lovely to be able to follow a star trail as we
fix our minds on the coming of the Christ child.
The limits of regular Sunday worship at Christ Church is having a significant impact on our regular income. We are not currently collecting’ cash on the plate’ on Sundays. If you currently contribute in this way, please consider switching to standing order. Use the form here or contact your bank direct. You can also use this form if you would like to increase an existing standing order.
